* Did you know that "Destination" was created specifically for the 2024 cycle of A State Of Trance events? * Rank 1 have now been responsible for a record nine official theme songs for Trance events since 1999! Their previous anthems/themes include "Airwave" (Innercity 1999), "Superstring" (Rank 1 Remix) (Sensation 2000), "Such Is Life" feat. Shanokee (Sensation 2001), "The Anthem 2003" (Sensation White 2003), "Beats At Rank-1 Dotcom" (Trance Energy 2005), "L.E.D. There Be Light" (Trance Energy 2009), "Symfo" (Sunrise Festival 2009) and "The Great Escape" (EnTrance Theme 2010). * This is the third official collaboration between Armin van Buuren and Rank 1. Their previous team-ups were "The Greater Light To Rule The Night" (2021) and "This World Is Watching Me" (2006, feat. Kush). * Despite having three collaborations together, and despite Benno and Armin's partnership having lasted from 2008 to 2023, there has never been a Rank 1 Remix of an Armin van Buuren original, nor has there ever been an Armin van Buuren Remix of a Rank 1 original. * Even though they've basically built the Dutch Anthem Trance sound between the two them, this is only the first ever collaboration between Ferry and Benno! * Ferry did however release some tracks with Piet Bervoets back in the late '90s under the aliasses Mind To Mind (1997, "Music Is My Life", "Rude Entry"), Nixieland (1998, "All I Need, All I Want"), Penetrator (1997, "Love Entry", "Eternal Touch") and Riptide (1997, "Going Back", "Dope", "Click"). * Did you know the three studio sessions for Destination were actually streamed live back in June 2023? You can find the recordings of these streams here, here and here! A recommended watch for any self-proclaimed Trance fan as it's rare to get such a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what goes on in the heads of these legendary producers when they create music. * Armin van Buuren picked Destination as Tune Of The Week on Episode #1126 of his A State Of Trance radioshow which aired on Thursday June 27th, 2023. |
