Hello and welcome to the Symsonic 1 Blog!
This fanblog is a Labour Of Love that's been in the making since 2012 and was inspired by the incredible Bervoets & De Goeij Page -my Rank 1 Bible- by Gert Scholten.
Originally called the Unoffical Rank 1 Fan Tracklister Blog (sheesh, what a mouthful huh xD), it was a hub that focused on Rank 1's Discography, DJ Sets, Live Acts, Radio Show (Rank 1's Radio Rush), Interviews and virtually any rumor or piece of trivia I could find about them. It found its origin on the Rank 1 Fan Hyves I created back in 2010 where I kept track of new Radio Rush episodes. In 2012 I then started The Razormane Blog to as a remedy against wordcount limits that kept killing my fun when I had to write essays for university. Ands since I used ramble endlessly about music on the ASOT forum anyway, why not create a platform to kill two birds with one stone? As Hyves went defunct, I decided to make a second blog dedicated to all things Rank 1!
Thus the UR1FT blog was born. Over time, the idea formed to add their releases as seperate posts to reflect a Timeline of their career. Eventually the UR1FT blog was taken down and split into two seperate entities: The Rank 1 Fanblog and Symsonic 1. Symsonic
On this blog you will find every official Rank 1 single, track version, remix, mix compilation and album they have ever released! I have included embedded Spotify, Youtube, Beatport, Junodownload and Soundcloud players alongside neat links to release linktrees, Discogs.com, 1001tracklists and occasionally vinyl shops! Every post of a release links to its official release date, as far as this is known information: note that releases prior to 2011 originally only appeared on Vinyl or CD, and were made available digitally much laterL as such there might be "several" release dates for a track depending on format. As such I've based the release date on the earliest released format in sofar I could tell from Discogs. In some cases Discogs doesn't mention an exact release date though so I just decided on a random date (usually based on a quarter of the year).
Outside of metadata and previews-samples, I've also added recommendations and DJ Support segments, alongside trivia and quotes from either Rank 1 or their peers about respective tracks when available. This blog's purpose serves as an Archive and Timeline of all Rank 1 releasese ever. Though it focused on official releases primary, I've gone out of my way to also add some rumored/mentioned and unreleased material that popped up over the decades. Live performances have been included as well. For the time being I've only tried to add live acts that offered the live premieres of their latest single(s) in that given year. I will aim to add as many as possible though sadly a lot of "tour acts" (sequence of several live acts in a tour year) don't have complete tracklists so it's not an easy feat...
So how do you navigate this blog? Allow me to explain:
* If it's the last release I will just mention a "-" which will link to the very first Rank 1 release ever, "Black Snow / The Citrus Juicer". That release in turn will link to the latest release in its "Debut" column.

| Spotify previews are all nice and dandy but so damn short! And often times, they don't even have the extended mixes! No worries though, Youtube Art Tracks to the rescue... And otherwise official uploads by Rank 1 or the labels themselves! Sometimes I'll use this embed for radioshow rips (often until I can replace them with something official). |

| Taken direcly from https://www.1001tracklists.com, I will add the summary of DJs that have supported the track so far. Note that though 1001tracklists is an extensive database, it by no means is the ultimate truth as far as DJ support goes. Live sets that weren't recorded/tracklisted take place all the time but for what its worth it can still indicate a track's success to some degree. |
